Hygienic and Easy to Maintain

Resin floors provide a seamless, non-porous surface that prevents the buildup of dirt and bacteria, promoting a clean and hygienic environment. This makes them particularly well-suited for sectors such as healthcare, food processing, and pharmaceuticals, where cleanliness is critical. Our resin flooring solutions can be designed to be compliant with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards, making them an ideal choice for food facilities that require strict hygiene controls. The ease of cleaning and maintenance further ensures that these floors remain in optimal condition, reducing the risk of contamination and promoting a safe, sanitary environment.

Safety Compliance and Anti-static Flooring/Static Dissipative

Our resin flooring options are designed to meet rigorous industry standards and safety regulations, including slip resistance, fire retardance, and anti-static properties ensuring your flooring not only looks good but also performs safely. Anti-static and static dissipative resin floors are particularly important in environments where static electricity could pose a risk, such as electronics manufacturing, healthcare, and data centres. These floors help prevent static buildup, reducing the risk of electrical hazards and ensuring a safe working environment.

Our Resin Flooring Process and Selection of Flooring Type

At Active Flooring Solutions, we take pride in our meticulous resin flooring process and the careful selection of the most suitable flooring type for each project. With extensive experience in the resin flooring industry, our team is equipped to guide you through every step, ensuring that your flooring not only meets but exceeds the specific needs of your environment.

Our resin flooring installation process starts with a comprehensive assessment of your existing floor. We employ various preparation techniques, such as shot blasting or diamond grinding, to create a mechanical key. This is followed by the application of a multi-layer resin system, beginning with a primer to combat moisture, then the core resin layer, and finally a sealant to deliver a durable and attractive finish.

Selecting the right resin flooring type is crucial for achieving the desired performance and durability. FeRFA, the Resin Flooring Association, classifies synthetic resin flooring into 8 types, each with its unique characteristics and suitable applications:

  • Floor Seal (Type 1): A thin, solvent or water-borne coating, ideal for light-duty areas.
  • Floor Coating (Type 2): A slightly thicker, solvent-free coating suitable for light to medium-duty use.
  • High Build Floor Coating (Type 3): A more robust coating for medium-duty environments.
  • Multi-layer Flooring (Type 4): Aggregate dressed, multi-layer systems for medium to heavy-duty applications.
  • Flow-applied Flooring (Type 5): Self-smoothing or self-levelling floors with a smooth surface, perfect for medium to heavy-duty use.
  • Resin Screed Flooring (Type 6): Trowel-finished, heavily filled systems for heavy-duty applications.
  • Heavy Duty Flowable Flooring (Type 7): Smooth-surface flooring for heavy to very heavy-duty environments.
  • Heavy Duty Resin Flooring (Type 8): Trowel-finished, aggregate-filled flooring, offering exceptional durability for very heavy-duty use.

We offer specialised solutions, including decorative finishes, slip-resistant surfaces, and anti-static or conductive flooring options, tailored to your specific requirements. Our team will work closely with you to determine the best resin flooring type for your project, taking into consideration factors like expected foot traffic, load requirements, and aesthetic preferences.
