Opening Doors and Changing Perceptions
Construction offers long term, skilled careers, yet many people never see it as an accessible route.
In 2025 we actively supported employability initiatives aimed at widening participation, particularly for women considering careers in construction.
HMP Styal and HMP New Hall
Lucy Keher, Managing Director, provided employability support to female inmates who had been participating in construction training programmes covering brick laying, roofing, plastering and tiling.
- 25 women supported across two prisons
- Career pathways explained clearly and honestly
- Practical advice on entering the industry
- Encouragement and confidence building
These sessions were not token visits. They were direct conversations about opportunity, accountability and future potential. Supporting individuals at transitional points in their lives is one of the most powerful forms of social value we can deliver.
Investing in Future Talent
We also strengthened our own pipeline by employing three new degree level apprentices in 2025. Developing skilled professionals from within ensures that we continue to raise standards across commercial, operational and leadership roles within our business.
Investing in our people
A significant focus over the past year has been investment in our teams. We welcomed three new apprentices into the business through degree apprenticeship routes, continued to invest in training and development, and expanded our teams to support growth across new regions.
Strengthening Communities Through Practical Support
Improving Spaces That Matter
As a specialist flooring contractor, our expertise is practical and tangible. We used that expertise to improve facilities that serve vulnerable groups, families and local communities.
Projects supported in 2025 included:
Pegasus Riding School for Disabled Children
Supporting an organisation that provides life enhancing experiences for children and adults with disabilities.
Brandles Community Centre
New flooring to improve safety, durability and overall usability of the space.
Esholt Village Community Hall
Refurbishment of timber flooring to extend the life of a valued local facility.
Fitton Hill Bulldogs Community Sports Centre
Supporting grassroots sport and youth engagement through improved facilities.
Withington Hospital Community Building
Installation of new carpet, vinyl and matting as part of a wider refurbishment.
These contributions involved donated materials, labour and professional expertise, ensuring that community buildings remain safe, functional and welcoming.

Charity Partnerships and Community Investment
A Partnership Rooted in Purpose
Active Flooring Solutions is proud to partner with Everton in the Community, one of the most respected and impactful charities in the UK.
While we operate nationally across live construction sites, our head office is based in Liverpool. Supporting Everton in the Community allows us to invest meaningfully in the region where our business is headquartered.
Everton in the Community serves neighbourhoods within one of the most deprived areas in the UK. The scale of social and economic challenge across these communities is significant, and the need for structured, sustainable intervention is real.
Why We Support Everton in the Community
We choose our charity partnerships carefully. Everton in the Community stands out for its strong governance, measurable outcomes and exceptional team who deliver genuine change on the ground.
Their programmes tackle critical issues including employability, youth engagement, social inclusion and health inequality. These are structured initiatives designed to create long term opportunity and break cycles of disadvantage.

Charity Partner of the Year 2025
In 2025, Active Flooring Solutions was honoured to be recognised as Everton in the Community’s Charity Partner of the Year.
This recognition reflects more than financial support. It represents long term commitment, active involvement and a shared belief in measurable social impact.

Wider Charity Support
Alongside our principal partnership, we also supported additional charitable causes and community fundraising initiatives during 2025, including Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Myatubular Charity and industry led charity events with key contractor partners.

Building Floors. Building Opportunity.
Active Flooring Solutions was founded on professionalism, high standards and long term relationships.
As we continue to grow, our commitment remains clear:
- Deliver exceptional flooring solutions
- Operate responsibly on every live site

- Create pathways into construction for the next generation
We are proud of what we have achieved in 2025, and we are only just getting started with even bigger ambitions for giving back in 2026.
