We recently completed the flooring for Hope Capital’s new office at Alaska House in Liverpool, working with Mountain Earth, who designed and delivered the fit out. It’s a lovely scheme, and one we were glad to be part of.
The deep green of the Hope Capital brand runs through the walls, the furniture and the tiled bar front, and the whole space has clearly been designed with the team in mind. The flooring was chosen to help set that mood, and it was a pleasure to help bring it to life.

The main floor is a timber-effect panel LVT from Plusfloor, laid in a large diamond panel design. It runs the length of the main corridor and opens out into the social space, where it sits in front of the green tiled bar, then carries on through the breakout area and into the presentation room. It gives these areas a warm, relaxed feel, closer to a hotel lounge than a typical office. A panel design like this needs careful setting out, as any drift in the lines shows up quickly over a long run, so our team took their time planning the layout from the corridor outwards before fitting began. We wanted to do the design justice.

In the breakout space, where the team eat, meet and play table football, a circle of stone effect LVT from Amtico is set into the timber panels. It is close to six metres across, and the curve was templated and cut by hand on site. It is the kind of detail our fitters enjoy, and they took real care over it. Nearby, a circular marble effect carpet from Tarkett Desso, veined in soft green and ochre, marks out a seating area. Both pick up on the round pendant lights and curved glazing used elsewhere in the design.

The desk areas and meeting rooms are finished in Milliken carpet tiles in soft greens and greys. They make these rooms quieter and more comfortable underfoot, and the colours tie back to the green used across the rest of the office.

We have loved being involved in this project. Thank you to Mountain Earth for trusting us with such a well considered design, and to the team at Hope Capital. It means a lot to see people enjoying a space we have worked on, and we hope you are very happy in your new office.
